HELP: VO2 max speed/MAS, based on a 2,400m test

by arrowrunning » Sat Dec 08, 2018 10:22 am

In the article about VO2 Max there is this sentence a the end of the paragraph discussion the 2400m VO2 Max field test: "(Note; if you want to know your VO2 max speed/MAS, based on a 2,400m or 5,000m test/race result, click on “Tinman Tools” at the top of the homepage.)"
I have scoured the interwebs to find the Tinman Tool relating to determining this speed. Can anyone help me find it? Or provide a description of the process by with one can determine MAS?

Thank you!

Never got a reply to this one, but I am still curious. Anyone know where those charts are located? Happy to provide an email if anyone has them to send. Thank you!

You can use this calculator:

http://www.runfastcoach.com/calc2/index.php

For the 2400m distance, go to "Imperial" when you scroll down. If you use 1.5 miles, that is about 2414 meters so pretty close.

I put in 8 minutes for 1.5 miles and clicked on "training paces" and got 3:17-3:21 per 1000m for VO2 max pace. Click on "race times" and it gives 17:24.1 as the equivalent 5k time.

Hope this helps!
