Strained Lower Back

Hey guys,

I'm in definite need of some help here. The other day I was moving some heavy rubber mats and believed to have strained my lower back muscles.

Has anyone dealt with this before and if yes, how did you remedy it?

High School Track

Hey guys, I am in need of some advice here. A HS runner (sophomore) has been doing fairly well, but is trying to figure out if he is more of a 800 m runner or miler. He has been slowly dropping his times as he has a new PR in both distances as of tonight. 800 m : 2:04 1600 m: 4:46 And based on the t...

Re: Ultra Training Question

Thanks Tinman. This past weekend was much better-I did a five hour run on Saturday and a three hour run on Sunday and felt pretty good. I think I'm going to try your recommendation this week-I'll do the five on Friday and try a six hour run Saturday. Thanks so much for your suggestion. Anything els...

You have an update? Man, I actually took the time to read through all of this and will have to reread some notes - so much great detail.

Re: Knee pain - ITBand?

I would agree it is the IT band and even though you feel the pain on the outside of the knee your issue is most likely above it. This was always the case with my bouts of it. I have had 2 issues and both limited me to just walking...running was not possible as it was too much pain for each step. I c...

Treadmill Purchase

Hey gang,

I am not sure if this is the correct section to post this question. I am in search of a new treadmill that wold be conducive to my serious training regime. I don't know where to really start looking with brand or place to purchase.

I appreciate any and all recommendations.

Thanks!

Back to training after 3 week layoff

Hey gang,

I have never really take this much time off, but after my first 50 miler my body deemed it necessary. Now, I am in nomads land as to how to get back to training and gain some of my fitness back in a timely fashion.

Any thoughts out there???

Re: 50k and 50 miler training
Just wanted to bump this to say good luck this coming weekend. Once you are done with the race and have a few moments it would be great to hear what you ended up do for long runs and also what type of tempo stuff you included in your buildup. Hope you get that 5:50.
Thank yo...
