Excellent Read on Canova's Training of New Sensation Kwemoi
In case you missed Kwemoi's 3000m, here is the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kepj3dPVdvM Canova had the following to say about training - he definitely includes Tinman's stamina principles Ronald started his training after going back Kenya from Japan, at the beginning of January. He had a co...

Re: 3-day rotation questions
In Tom's 3-day rotation, he was running fractions of workouts. If he could have run 7 x 1000m at CV, instead he would have considered 3-4 reps, and the pace would have been adjusted to that day's 35 minute race pace. This is an example of how he would scale-down the hardest day of the 3-day rotation...

Re: Alternation Workouts for Specific Endurance - Opinions
Dilluh - That was super helpful. I agree that one should complete training that leaves you feeling invigorated and fit. Otherwise, not only is it mentally difficult (you're not having fun) but it is also likely not helping improve fitness. All good points. The times that Tom has written my training ...

Re: Alternation Workouts for Specific Endurance - Opinions
Dilluh, I haven't posted in quite a while - I agree with everything you've written regarding getting oneself into 10k shape, followed by tailored event-specific training which produces tremendous distance running results. One nugget I liked in your post was the reference to stamina as it relates to ...

Re: Half Marathon SImulation
Why CVs the day before a long run? I own a copy of Ron Daws' "Run Your Best" book. All of his schedules have an "effort" run the day prior to the LR. It would seem to add some density to your training; just curious if there are other reasons. Also, what is the pace/effort association with Lydiard 1...

Re: Thanks to TINMAN!
Great job! How far was that race (I may have missed it)? Sounds like it might have been more of an "effort" course rather than one where you go for personal best. How fast do you believe you could run for a flat 5k these days? Congrats regardless!!

Let's modify that dew point to 77. Sub 4 guys might have a hard time running sub 4. It is a nasty day in NC

Re: In Raleigh, North Carolina for the Sir Walter Mile, Aug
Wish I could make the drive, but I'm limited tonight. Best of luck on the first race as a pro and first race back after the spring sickness! I would think Drew could win this one. Alexander, Merber, and others should provide a lot of competition. I am excited to see the video and hear the results! T...

Re: Thanks to TINMAN!
Wolde, Great results! I am shocked by how conservatively you ran your 850m and how much you felt it helped you. As a 34 minute 10K runner, using the Tinman Calculator, it appears that you could probably run 3:10/km for more than three times the distance you actually ran. Is there anyone else out the...

Re: Heat Index or "Real Feel" When Using Tinman's Heat Chart
I'm looking forward to seeing how your experiment works and if it leaves you chomping at the bit to get back after it 6 weeks from now.

Heat Index or "Real Feel" When Using Tinman's Heat Charts?
For those of you who use the Tinman Heat Chart, do you use Heat Index (as the chart states) or do you use the "Real Feel"? Real Feel is defined as: "The AccuWeather RealFeelĀ® temperature does just that. The RealFeelĀ® uses multiple factors including the temperature, humidity, cloud cover, sun intensi...

We've had a BOB since day one with the little guy. He's 17 months old and really loves it! It allows his mother a time to herself (or to cook/clean/rest, whatever) and it allows he and I to have quality time doing something I love doing. He slept in it when he was a little baby but seldom sleeps whi...

Re: Bowerman Mile
Thanks, Tom. That is quite exciting! I'm really looking forward to watching the race this weekend! As for the OT - I'm assuming Drew will be racing the 1500m in a few weeks and not the 5000m, right?
