Crazy big congrats to all 3 and especially Drew who was just phenomenal (well what I could see in the 3 secs I was not staring at the footlocker ref blowup thingy)

Going to be exciting watching Drew in the years to come.

Outstanding time and race! It looked like the strategy was to go out hard and see what was in the tank the 2nd half of the race? I look forward to following Drew in track. Congrats to Drew, the Hunter family, and Tinman!

The plan was to put the pressure on early. 2:13-2:14 for the first 1/2 mile and 4:30 low was the directions I gave to Drew. We communicated multiple times about the pressure that he could apply early and how the effect would be panic by the key contenders. Indeed it played out as expected. I stood at the half mile was 2:13.6 and I saw fear in the eyes of Rocha and Veatch when Drew stepped on the pedal right then. Rocha looked at Veatch to see if he would react and Veatch just dropped his head and in apparent realization that the race for first place was over. I saw then that those two chose to race each other for second. They battled hard and fought for second with Rocha pressing hard on the last hill leading to the 3 mile mark. Rocha gapped Veatch and held strong to the finish. Meanwhile Drew continued to hold a 100-120 meter lead from 1 mile onward. Drew chose to hold steady from the 2.5 mile mark to the finish. He had another gear to use but did not need it. His hamstring was tight from the wicked 200 meter downhill that he ran down twice, so he thought it wise to not risk pulling a hamstring muscle just to kick in when he did not need to do so.
