So, overall the three Kansas City Smoke running club men I coach (I coach 9 of them), that competed at the USA Track & Field Masters Championships in Landover, Maryland, did well.

Kevin Miller (age 50-54 division): 1st in the 3000m (9:11), 1st place in the 1-mile run (4:39), and a 1st place in the 800m run (2:11).

Ron Kochanowicz (age 40-44 division): 4th in the 3000m (9:30), 5th in the 1-mile run (4:41), and a 8th place in the 800m (2:11).

Randy Wasinger (age 35-39 division): 4th place in the 3000m (9:30), 1st in the 1-mile run (4:31), and 1st in the 800m run (2:02).

I am proud of all three men for doing their best!

I met your guys today at the meet!  Actually I hunted them down and introduced myself  :)  and told them to say hello to you!

I got 2nd in the 800 today, a SHOCKING 2:22.04!  The only masters 800 I have ever run any faster (and barely) was way back outdoors in 2007.  I think all the CV 600's I've been running for the last 6 months have paid off.

Thanks, Kevin.  You guys did great too!  I can't wait to turn 50 this summer (only being an age group runner would make me say that!) and go for some records next year.  Good luck with outdoors if you are competing.  I will probably run Penn Relays and then just start training for 5K's till next indoor season.
