Would like to get a general training plan to peak for a 5K around June 1st. I would like to run in the 17:30’s at this race.
I PR’d at this same race last year with a 18:20.
Last spring I ran 1:28 in half. I ran 2600 miles in 2011 and was on target for 3100 but got injured in the fall and I’m just now back up to around 50mpw. I’m willing to push up to 80mpw this cycle.
Can someone recommend a general training plan? Example January only base mileage. Starting February throw in 1 or 2 tempos / week. March start some long intervals and tempos……etc
