Great Summer XC training but Injury Filled Season.

Hello,

I am in my first season of cross country but trained diligently over the summer at about 27-30mpw(Male 16yrs) using Tinman methods and saw substantial improvement. However, after my first meet (which I ran a slow time due to terrible conditions), I got an ankle injury. However, I ran my second meet in pain and ran slow then too. Afterwards, I decided to take a couple of days off and missed two meets. in conclusion, My question is, should I continue to take time off and lose all my speed from my summer training or should i run through the injury.
