Hump Day Daily, September 5th

18.5 miles for the day in 2:08:30 (6:56) overall

Quite warm this morning for a track workout. Sunny, humid and close to 80 degrees in NE Ohio.

Workout was 9.5 total miles in 1:00:57 for an overall 6:24 pace including warm up, cool down and rep jogs.

With Sunday's half marathon looming, today's track workout was 1000m CV reps with 200m jogs.

2 miles warm up
7 x (1000m @ CV (~3:28) w/200m jog) (3:26, :26, :27, :28, :28, :28, :26)
2 mile cool down

Workout went quite well even with the heat!

PM: 9 miles in 1:07:33 (7:30) easy recovery run on the North Park trail. It was very warm and humid this afternoon!

MR, this weekend will be the forth in a row for races which is about as far as I take it with out a week or two off. This weekend's races happens to be my final prep race for the Road Runner Akron Marathon coming on Sept.29th.

Jim, no way I will ever match you 50 races in one year! We don't even have that many races in a season around here. I guess California has it's advantages!

Good runs all!

Yesterday I ran a little over 4 miles at EZ pace. After work is my weekly tennis match. One could not go so instead of doubles, will play round-robin singles, and it should be a better workout than doubles.

Plan to run another EZ 4 later.

You race a lot, Ron. I envy you!

14 for me under a sunny sky. Felt good most of the way but started to feel the heat last couple--81 when I finished. Average 8:11 pace.

Yes, Ron, you do race a lot--about as much as I did at 43. That was 1989, a year in which I ran 50 races, my all-time PR for number of races run, plus a bunch of others.

I had planned on running 6+ miles today, but work was too busy and needed to run after the kids went to bed. I started my run too soon after eating dinner and ran with a stomach ache the entire 5.8 miles in 6:42 pace. :(

Legs felt well rested after the tough 5+ mile run yesterday.
